Chairman's Message





The Young Members Chapter (YMC) is formed by a group of young energetic professionals and aspiring students under the age of 35. Although the YMC mainly provides support to the HKWMA Executive Committee, their other duties also include promoting and supporting activities held by the HKWMA; help enforce the link with the young and student members of HKWMA; facilitate a platform for experience sharing; coordinates information, knowledge, training and support development in the area of waste management in Hong Kong.

Since its establishment in 2010, YMC has organized a broad range of activities including social activities such as squid fishing and technical visits to NENT Landfill, Chemical Waste Treatment Centre (CWTC), glass bottle recycling facility, Sludge Treatment Facility (STF), food composting facilities and incineration facilities in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau.

In addition to this, the YMC has also supported and help organise HKWMA events including coordination of the professional course on waste management, the food waste conference held in Winter of 2012, the Annual Two-Coast Forum between China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau and various other seminars and forums.
